It’s better to have the original manufacturer handle it, as this involves issues related to the rotor’s dynamic balance.
This depends on the actual condition of the rotor. For a regular equipment rotor, it is possible to consider using a small-diameter welding rod for patch welding before further processing. For reference
The rotor keyway is presumably the one at the connection point; new keyways should be created in symmetrical directions, and the original keyways should then be welded back together. Finally, a dynamic and static balance test must be conducted, and if there is imbalance, counterweights must be added until the requirements are met.
When creating a keyway, there’s no need for dynamic balancing; we just create it directly! Either replace it with one in another position or use the original one; the small motor has little impact.
