Both are explosion-proof motors with the same specifications; what are the differences in their areas of application?
With the same parameters, the application scenarios are essentially similar; factors such as personalized requirements and API standards come into play. Coupled versions are usually used, and their price is significantly higher.
I’ve seen some companies that transport flammable and explosive liquids use only direct-connection types. It doesn’t have much to do with safety factors, right?

It’s a matter of user habit: direct-connected pumps are more compact in size, but maintenance requires working on the motor. In some cases, the motor shafts of directly connected pumps are custom-made and cannot be replaced with standard motors equipped with couplings. With motors that come with couplings, maintenance generally does not require touching the motor itself, which is more convenient; however, such motors are larger in size
The difference is not significant; if the isolation sleeve leaks, the material that is in direct contact will enter the motor, while the material that is connected via a coupling will not enter the motor. API685 does not allow direct connection.
