It is indeed very important; in 2005, when we started working on one of our units, a pressure testing blind plate was omitted during disassembly. Although it didn’t cause any serious damage, it took a whole day to discover the issue.
Blind flanges should be manufactured in accordance with standards; the sealing surfaces must be fitted with water discharge lines, and the specifications and grades should be marked on the handles. They must not be installed arbitrarily.
