According to a report in Fujian Daily, on the 24th, the first steel lining module for Unit 1 of China Nuclear Power’s Zhangzhou nuclear power plant was successfully lifted into place. The steel lining is a major component of the reactor building containment in nuclear power plants. The Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant is planned to have 6 third-generation nuclear reactors with a capacity of 1 million kilowatts each; the first phase will feature 2 reactors utilizing the Hualong One technology. Hualong One is China’s third-generation nuclear power technology with complete independent intellectual property rights; it meets the world’s latest nuclear safety standards and represents a major milestone in the innovative development of China’s nuclear power sector.
