In February 2021, reporters visited Dalian HRG Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd., where they witnessed the successful on-site testing of the country’s first 335-ton self-propelled electric-driven unmanned molten iron mixing vehicle developed by the company, which received recognition and praise from the users at Baowu Group. Hot metal transportation is one of the core elements in the iron and steel industry, as well as the most important logistics link in steel manufacturing. To further improve operational efficiency and meet the requirements of the intelligent and green era, China Baowu Group, in collaboration with units such as Dalian Heavy Industry, formed a project team to jointly develop self-propelled electric-driven unmanned mixers for molten iron, by utilizing technologies such as green drive, intelligent sensing, and digital tracking. Dalian Heavy Industry is applying cutting-edge intelligent concepts to accelerate the development of the 335-ton self-propelled, electric-driven, unmanned mixer car for molten iron. The vehicle is equipped with its own driving and power supply systems, and operates without human intervention thanks to ground-based control and navigation systems. In terms of operation mode, it enables departure as soon as the tank is full, without the need to wait for a traction locomotive. Self-propelled ladle mixing trucks can operate flexibly either individually or in groups, effectively reducing the temperature drop of the molten iron and significantly improving their operational efficiency. Furthermore, the 335-ton self-propelled electric-driven unmanned molten iron mixing vehicle features low costs and a short development cycle for upgrading traditional molten iron mixing vehicle production lines in the industry, in terms of design and manufacturing processes. In early October 2020, Dalian Heavy Industry quickly assembled a project team focused on developing unmanned heavy-frame transport vehicles using natural navigation technology (abbreviated as “UHV” in English), and added key experts from various fields to form a dedicated task force. The working group worked together efficiently to overcome various technical challenges, including those related to the \"power steering frame\" and \"axle-holding gearbox\". It took only 3 months and 9 days to complete all stages of equipment manufacturing, from design and procurement to production and assembly on-site, thus fulfilling the manufacturing tasks on schedule and to the required standard. The technical team, the marketing team, and the company’s subsidiary specializing in coke oven vehicles worked together to quickly form a project team focused on developing unmanned heavy-frame transport vehicles equipped with natural navigation technology (abbreviated as “UHV” in English), along with a specialized working group comprising experts from various fields. Starting from the perspective of meeting customer needs and living up to their trust, the working group pooled its efforts, operated efficiently, and worked swiftly to overcome various technical challenges such as those related to \"power steering frames\" and \"axle-hugging gearbox reducers\". It took only 3 months and 9 days to complete the entire process of equipment design, procurement, production, and in-house assembly, thus fulfilling the manufacturing tasks on schedule and to high quality.
