In order to further optimize the product structure, extend the industrial chain, and enhance market competitiveness, Nanjing Chengzhi Clean Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Nanjing Chengzhi") and the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences") will independently develop new coal-based adiponitrile technology. The two parties have recently signed a technology research and development agreement and plan to build a 3,000 tons/year engineering demonstration device in advance. On this basis, complete larger-scale process technology development, form an industrialized process technology package, and build an industrial demonstration device.
Adiponitrile is mainly used to prepare hexamethylenediamine, the intermediate of nylon 66. Due to its high technical barriers and investment thresholds, its products and production technology are currently monopolized by foreign companies, resulting in a serious imbalance in the industrial chain structure of my country's "adiponitrile-hexamethylenediamine-nylon 66" industry chain. Nylon 66 is an important raw material for industrial production. It has good comprehensive properties and has the advantages of high strength, good rigidity, impact resistance, oil and chemical resistance, wear resistance and self-lubrication. It is widely used in industry, clothing, decoration, engineering plastics and other fields. my country is the world's major producer and consumer of nylon 66, but currently there is no industrialized adiponitrile production equipment in my country, and all required products rely on imports. Therefore, breaking through the adiponitrile technology blockade is of great significance to my country's nylon industry.
Compared with the industrialized butadiene hydrocyanation method and acrylonitrile electrolytic dimerization technology abroad, the independently developed coal-based adiponitrile technology has a relatively simple process, fewer reaction steps, low energy consumption, does not involve highly toxic chemicals, is greener, safer, and has cost advantages.； At the same time, being based on coal and responding to the reality of China's natural resource endowment is more conducive to the safety of related industrial chains and the clean utilization of coal. Coal-based adiponitrile technology is a new process independently developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It has applied for a number of patents and has good industrialization prospects. The strong alliance and in-depth industry-university-research cooperation between Nanjing Chengzhi and the Chinese Academy of Sciences will help further enhance the company's technological innovation capabilities and industrial competitiveness, and promote the company's clean energy industry to a new level. In the future, through the industrialization of coal-based adiponitrile technology, Nanjing Chengzhi will extend the butadiene product industry chain, optimize the product structure, and lay a good foundation for the next development of the nylon new material industry, which is of great significance to improving the company's profitability and its ability to actively defend against industry cycles.
On the morning of August 19, the construction of Tianchen Qixiang’s 1 million tons/year nylon new material industrial base, China’s first adiponitrile project, officially started. The industrial base is located in Zibo Qilu Chemical Industrial Zone and contains an adiponitrile production unit with an annual output of 500,000 tons. Upon completion, it is expected to become the first industrial adiponitrile production base in China.
