On December 1, at the site of the expansion project for the PO/MTBE plant of Shandong Ruilin Polymer Materials Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Huajian Lifting Company used a 1,600-ton crawler crane for the main lifting operation and a 700-ton crawler crane to assist in positioning the load, successfully placing a 700-ton peroxide reactor in place with precision. The successful completion of this critical equipment lifting task not only marks an important milestone in the project’s development but also paves the way for subsequent equipment lifting operations. It is reported that the hoisting project for Shandong Ruilin’s PO/MTBE plant is located in Fenghuang Town, Linzi District, Zibo City, Shandong Province. It represents a key project for Shandong Ruilin’s expansion and upgrading of its existing production facilities. This lifting company was responsible for lifting the 3 peroxide reactors for this project; the total weight of these equipment units was 2,100 tons. Each reactor that was lifted this time was 24.1 meters high, 9.6 meters in diameter, and weighed 700 tons – they represented the \"heavy-weight, large-size\" core equipment of the project. As an expansion project, the limited on-site construction conditions pose a challenge to the lifting team’s technical skills and organizational capabilities. Firstly, there are limitations regarding the working space: the project site is located right next to the existing operating equipment. The entire process of assembling, rotating, and lifting the 1600-ton main crane and the 700-ton auxiliary crane has to be carried out in a confined area, which places high demands on the scheduling of lifting operations ; Secondly, moving the equipment under load is quite challenging. All three reactors were manufactured on-site, and the locations where they are placed are more than 100 meters away from the lifting foundations. The 1600-ton crawler crane has to transport equipment weighing 700 tons over a distance of 108 meters. It is essential that the bearing capacity of the foundation is sufficient and that the crane operates stably; there is no room for error at any step ; Finally, the process of preparing the foundation is complicated: the 1600-ton crawler crane is equipped with 30 foundation boxes measuring 6 meters by 2.4 meters each. During movement while carrying a load, it is necessary to transport nearly 80 such boxes back and forth repeatedly, and coordination with truck cranes and flatbed trucks is also required throughout the process; thus, the work involved in laying and transporting these foundation boxes is substantial. It is reported that to ensure the successful completion of the lifting task, project technicians developed a customized lifting plan by taking into account geological survey data and equipment parameters, and repeatedly optimized the crane’s positioning, lifting path, and the pace at which it moved while carrying a load ; Managers and crane operators have their roles clearly defined, with specific responsibilities for command, operation, supervision, etc., to ensure zero errors in command transmission ; All personnel involved in the project upheld the spirit of the \"Iron Army of Construction\", strictly followed the planned procedures, and carefully controlled every stage such as lifting, rotating, and lowering the load, ensuring that the entire lifting process remained safe and under control.
