China’s chemical processing equipment has also seen significant progress, which has contributed to the swift advancement of the petrochemical industry. Here, we have compiled some of the achievements and breakthroughs made by Chinese equipment manufacturers in terms of larger-scale production and localization of equipment. Everyone is welcome to share, discuss, and exchange ideas; let’s cheer for Made in China and support the development of chemical processing equipment! ------------------------------------------------------ From the 1950s to the 1970s, the pipeline steel used in our country was mainly A3 steel and 16Mn steel ; In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Japanese-imported TS52K (equivalent to X52 grade) pipeline steel was used ; In the 1980s, Baosteel introduced some of the production processes for hot-rolled coil of pipeline steel from Japan’s Nippon Steel and Germany’s Thyssen. However, in practical operation, it has been found that the products manufactured using these imported technologies still fall far short of the quality level of advanced foreign **pipeline steels. To meet the needs of China’s oil and gas development strategy, Baosteel initiated the development and trial production of high-strength and high-toughness \"ferritic + pearlitic\" pipeline steel. The first challenge and opportunity came from the Tarim Desert oil and gas pipeline project in 1995. At that time, Baosteel did not yet have any experience in carrying out large-scale pipeline projects, and this valuable order marked Baosteel’s first step into the field of pipeline steel applications. At that time, Yang Runchen, the deputy commander in charge of procurement at the Tarim Oil Field Project Command, was approaching retirement age. In order to support the development of domestic pipeline steel, he gave up the \"safer\" imported products and, despite the pressure, handed this crucial order to Baosteel. The successful start of Tarim not only marked the beginning of large-scale use of domestically produced pipeline steel in China, ending the long-term reliance on imports, but also provided the best endorsement for Baosteel to bid on large-scale pipeline projects both at home and abroad in the future. In 1996, Baosteel, as the only steel company in China, participated in the international bidding for the Shaanxi to Beijing gas pipeline project. The X60 pipeline steel developed and produced by Baosteel competed with many foreign counterparts and successfully secured an order for 50,000 tons. This is the first time that domestically produced X60 pipeline steel has been used in our country. After the reform and opening up, one large-scale energy project after another was launched across the country. Driven by a series of major projects related to people’s livelihood, Baoguang Pipe Steel has developed from scratch: starting with X52, which is composed of \"ferrite + pearlite\", to X70 and X80 featuring \"acicular ferrite\", and then achieving successful development of X120, the pipeline steel with the highest strength level in the world... This has greatly promoted the development of high-grade oil and gas pipelines in China, serving as a guide and example for the advancement of high-grade pipeline steel in the country.
