[May 7, 2024] According to China Petroleum Network (Special Correspondent Jiang Yan, Reporter Yang Rui), on May 5, an ultra-long and ultra-heavy galvanized compacted-strand steel wire designed and manufactured by Xianyang Gemmy Machinery for its client arrived at the user’s site and was successfully put into use. This marks the successful domestic substitution of such offshore engineering products.   The diameter of the galvanized, compacted strand steel wire rope used in this marine floating crane is 62 millimeters; its total length is 5730 meters. The weight of each individual strand exceeds 100 tons, and its tensile strength is over 1960 megapascals. It represents the heaviest galvanized, compacted strand product manufactured by Xianyang Gemstone Company. It is also one of the few marine steel wire ropes in China that meet the criteria of having a diameter of over 60 millimeters, a weight per strand of over 100 tons, and a tensile strength of over 1900 megapascals. Due to the complicated production process and intricate process control associated with ultra-long and ultra-heavy compressed wire ropes, Xianyang Bao Shi Company adheres to the principle of \"getting it right the first time\"; all departments work together to ensure that products are delivered on schedule. On the day of product acceptance, the customer stated that compared to purchasing foreign products, the purchase price was reduced by over 20%, and the delivery time was shortened by at least one-third.   In recent years, Xianyang Gemstone Company has consistently focused on emerging market sectors such as offshore engineering, formulating a series of plans for the development of domestically produced products. By accelerating the process of substitution with domestic alternatives, the company has achieved significant results. It has developed wire rope products in various diameters, including 60 millimeters, 76 millimeters, 95 millimeters, 120 millimeters, and 150 millimeters, thereby helping domestic marine equipment to achieve successful substitution with domestic products. These products have been widely recognized by customers, contributing to an increase in the reputation and market influence of the Gemstone brand.
