The 320,000-ton/year plant for producing ethylene oxide and propylene oxide derivatives at Hongqiang Chemical achieved successful commissioning on its first attempt. On December 29, 2024, Huizhou Hongqiang Chemical Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hongqiang Shares located in the **-class petrochemical industrial park in Daya Bay, Huizhou, successfully commissioned its plant capable of producing 320,000 tons per year of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide derivatives on the first try. The project involves an investment of around 700 million yuan, and it entails close cooperation with CNOOC Shell’s EO and PO resources. The completion of large-scale production of polyether monomers in the first phase marks an expansion of Hongqiang Shares’ business in concrete admixtures. It not only helps to reduce the costs of key raw materials but also enables integration across the upstream and downstream stages of concrete admixture production, as well as the launch of a new core business in fine chemicals. This will help the company identify new sources of growth and provide strong impetus for improved performance! The Red Wall Chemical Fine Chemicals project commenced construction in March 2022. Through systematic and rational organization, the team overcame various challenges such as the pandemic from 2022 to 2023, complex geological conditions, and the rainy season in 2024. The most advanced process technologies from both domestic and international sources were carefully selected, along with the strictest safety standards. For project materials, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, top-tier brands from around the world were chosen. The construction party, designers, and other stakeholders worked closely together, following **and industry regulations meticulously throughout the construction process. After 2 years and 10 months, the project was successfully completed and delivered. At the beginning of December, the project passed the joint inspection by the relevant government departments and expert groups, earning unanimous approval from the experts and related organizations. In late December, the project successfully obtained approval from the Huizhou Emergency Management Bureau for trial production, and the trial run was successful on December 29. Starting from January 2025, the large-scale production of high-quality products such as polyether polyols, hydroxyesters, and non-ionic surfactants will be gradually completed for release in the South China market.
