On April 13, the first air compressor unit of the air separation plant at the China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base, which is under the general contract of Sinochem Hualu Company, completed its initial trial run successfully. This marks the official transition of the project from the construction and installation phase to the equipment commissioning phase, laying a solid foundation for subsequent joint trials of the plant’s systems and its operation on schedule. The air compressor unit used in this trial run operates in a motor-driven mode and features a three-stage compression system with a multi-axis gear-type centrifugal structure. All of its key parameters are at the leading level in the industry: the rated suction volume is 447,500 Nm³/h, the pressure ratio between the inlet and outlet is 6.17, the rated shaft power is 38,500 kW, and the power of the drive motor is 41,500 kW. These specifications ensure that it can fully meet the gas demand for the deep processing of coal at the facility. During the testing phase, the unit operated continuously and smoothly throughout the entire process. All key operational parameters such as shaft vibration, temperature, pressure, and flow rate met the specified standards with precision. The electrical, instrumentation, and CCS control systems responded promptly and functioned reliably. Key performance tests, including those related to anti-surge functionality, were passed successfully in a single attempt, thereby confirming the high quality of equipment manufacturing, the excellent standard of on-site construction and installation, as well as the professional capabilities in system integration for this project.
