Give praise and encouragement to the achievements made in China’s chemical engineering technology and equipment; your participation in discussions is the greatest encouragement. **********************【Ten Years of Great Development in Chemical Engineering Equipment】Regular updates and summaries are available; feel free to join the discussions: https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-3576046-1-1.html ***************** On January 7, 2025, the **first batch of “Green and Low-Carbon Advanced Technology Demonstration Projects”** – namely, the 300,000-ton-per-year production project of carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyols by Anhui Pucarbon New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. (Phase I) – began operations, marking the start of a new chapter for this company in the field of carbon dioxide-based polyols. The Anhui ordinary carbon-based project for the annual production of 300,000 tons of carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyols involves a total investment of around 2 billion yuan and covers an area of approximately 500 mu; the project will be constructed in two phases. Once the project is completed and operational, it will be able to sequester approximately 180,000 tons of carbon dioxide. The annual sales revenue is expected to be around 7.5 billion yuan, with annual tax revenues amounting to about 300 million yuan. It is also anticipated that the project will create 400 new jobs. Phase 1 of the project covers an area of 150 mu and involves an investment of around 600 million yuan. It involves the construction of a production facility capable of manufacturing 50,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyols, along with related infrastructure. This facility will be able to sequester approximately 26,300 tons of carbon dioxide each year, making it the largest carbon dioxide-based polyol production plant in the world to date. The facility is now in the commissioning phase, with operations expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025. Upon completion and full operation of the project, it is expected to generate annual sales revenue of 1.5 billion yuan and annual tax revenues of around 60 million yuan, while also creating approximately 150 jobs. Mao Hongbing, chairman of Puli Materials, said that the company actively responds to the **\"dual carbon\" policy** by adopting a forward-looking approach in developing technology pathways and business areas related to carbon dioxide-based polyols. With the high-value utilization of carbon dioxide as its core competitive advantage, Puli Materials builds efficient and highly selective catalytic systems, explores the mechanisms of catalyst activation, reactions, and catalytic action, enables precise control over the products produced, and fosters the integration of carbon dioxide utilization with the development of new materials. Focusing on the utilization of carbon dioxide, enterprises are striving to develop new carbon dioxide-based materials such as carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyols (PCE), propylene carbonate (PC), and biodegradable materials (PPC), in order to provide high-performance products that can serve as substitutes for imported ones. Compared to traditional materials, the new carbon dioxide-based materials produced from Puli materials are widely used due to their unique structure and excellent properties. The main product of this project contains more than 30% carbon dioxide, and it boasts excellent properties such as water resistance, tensile strength, tear strength, and wear resistance. It can be used as a substitute for traditional petroleum-based products in the production of synthetic materials. It is widely applied in construction, furniture and home decoration, automotive interiors, clothing, insulation materials, biodegradable materials, the new energy sector, and the electronics industry. It represents a carbon-neutral solution that has attracted significant attention within the polyurethane industry, as well as an example of innovative technological development in this field. In 2024, the first-phase project of Puli Materials’ facility capable of producing 300,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyol was included in the **first batch of ‘Green and Low-Carbon Advanced Technology Demonstration Project List’**, while the ‘technology for producing carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyether polyols’ was listed in Anhui Province’s ‘2024 Green and Low-Carbon Product Technologies and Suppliers Directory’. Chen Shengyue, deputy general manager of Puli Materials, told reporters that the company attaches great importance to the development of its own intellectual property rights, and continues to invest substantial resources to ensure effective innovation in technology as well as the successful transformation of research results. The company not only places emphasis on in-depth basic research but also promotes continuous technological innovation and improvement by strengthening cooperation with universities. The company has assembled a high-level, professional R&D team, and has now established a complete technological innovation framework that helps the enterprise continuously enhance its competitiveness in the industry.
Project Name: Anhui Ordinary Carbon New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.’s Project for Producing 300,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyols. Project Status: **One of the first “Green and Low-Carbon Advanced Technology Demonstration Projects”. Date of official commissioning: January 7, 2023 (Phase 1). Total investment: Approximately 2 billion yuan. Land area: Approximately 290 mu. Construction in phases: The project will be built in two phases. The first phase covers an area of 150 mu, with an investment of around 600 million yuan. It involves the construction of a production facility capable of producing 50,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyols, along with related infrastructure; this is currently the largest carbon dioxide-based polyol production facility in the world. Once the project is fully operational, it will be able to sequester approximately 180,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. The annual sales revenue is expected to be around 7.5 billion yuan, with annual tax revenues amounting to about 300 million yuan, while it will also create 400 jobs. The project for producing 300,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyols is expected to consume approximately 180,000 tons of carbon dioxide each year. This project uses carbon dioxide as a raw material to synthesize polyols, replacing over 30% of petroleum-based raw materials. The comprehensive mechanical and weather resistance properties of these products place them at the international forefront in the polyol market; they can be used in all areas of polyurethane production, meeting the diverse demands for polyol products in the domestic market and contributing to the development of the carbon dioxide-based polyurethane industry. In March 2024, the company’s project for producing 300,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide-based polycarbonate polyols (Phase 1) was included in the **first batch of the ‘List of Advanced Green and Low-Carbon Technology Demonstration Projects’**.
