China Energy Engineering Group Shenyang signs cooperation agreement for green fuel base project; approximately 3 million tons of biomass are required

On March 1, at a symposium held in Beijing on deepening cooperation between Liaoning Province and central state-owned enterprises, China Energy Engineering Group’s China Electric Power Engineering Company signed a cooperation agreement for the China Energy Engineering Group Shenyang Green Fuel Base project with Kangping County in Shenyang. The China Energy Engineering Group’s project for a green alcohol and oil production facility that combines wind and solar power with biomass energy is located in Kangping County, Shenyang. The plan is to invest in building a facility capable of producing 500,000 tons of green alcohol and oil per year, along with 2 GW of centralized wind power; it is estimated that around 3 million tons of biomass will be required annually for this purpose. Phase 1 involves investing in the construction of a project to produce 100,000 tons of green methanol, while Phase 2 plans to invest in the production of 400,000 tons of green aviation fuel and other products. The intended investment amount is 32 billion yuan.
