On the morning of August 29, the groundbreaking ceremony for the photovoltaic power generation project (Section 4) of the 1.36 million kilowatt photovoltaic project as part of the Phase II of the Xinjiang Oilfield New Energy and Associated Coal Power and Carbon Capture Integration Project – a project undertaken under the EPC management of CNPC (Xinjiang) Engineering Company – was successfully held at the project site. The project management office for the integrated coal-and-power operation in the Xinjiang oil fields, the supervision unit, and representatives of various construction parties were all present, marking the official entry of the project into its substantive construction phase. Lot 4 of this photovoltaic project is located in Karamay City, with a planned total area of around 35 square kilometers. The area enjoys convenient transportation links, providing a favorable foundation for project construction and subsequent operation. The core construction activities are extensive, including the installation of 201.7 megawatts worth of driven piles, the setup of support components, the construction of step-up substation transformers along with related grounding systems, power cables, communication facilities, and roads. Once the project is completed and put into operation, it will establish an efficient and stable power conversion and transmission system, significantly enhancing the region’s capacity to supply clean energy. This will contribute to optimizing the regional energy structure and provide new impetus for the accelerated green and low-carbon transformation of the Xinjiang oil fields. CNPC (Xinjiang) Engineering Company’s EPC project management team attaches great importance to project construction. At the commencement ceremony, the project manager stated that the company would leverage its core strengths in terms of talent, technology, and management, adhere to a service philosophy of win-win cooperation, strictly fulfill the obligations stipulated in the general contract, and achieve unified management of all stages – design, procurement, and construction – through a collaborative approach involving the owner, supervisor, and EPC contractor. The company will aim to develop safe engineering projects, environmental protection projects, energy-saving projects, and high-quality projects. It will strictly abide by laws, regulations, and industry standards, and implement measures to control dust and prevent soil erosion during construction. By doing so, it will protect the local ecological environment while advancing project development, ensuring that all construction tasks are completed on time with high standards, high quality, and efficiency.
