CGN invests 2.48 billion yuan in Guazhou, Jiuquan, Gansu to build an off-grid hydrogen production facility coupled with a plant capable of producing 50,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year

The CGN off-grid hydrogen production with annual synthetic ammonia output of 50,000 tons project in Guazhou County is located in the Liugou Coal Chemical Industry Park in Guazhou County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province. It was invested and constructed by Gansu CGN Wind Power Co., Ltd. The project covers a total area of 12,181 mu, and includes the construction of a 400MW photovoltaic power generation facility, a grid-connected energy storage system with a capacity of 90MW/360MWh, a hydrogen production unit with a capacity of 24,000 Nm3/h, hydrogen storage capacity of 175,000 standard cubic meters (15.6 tons). It also features hydrogen production integrated with an annual green ammonia production capacity of 50,000 tons, along with related collection stations, transmission lines and other power supply facilities, as well as supporting infrastructure for chemical processing units. In line with the integrated planning for off-grid photovoltaic hydrogen production, hydrogen pipelines will be constructed to the ammonia production facilities in the chemical park. Synthetic ammonia products are used to meet market demands in areas such as molten salt energy storage and the chemical industry. The total investment for the project is 2,480 million yuan.
