The second-phase project of the 6.25-meter rammed coke ovens at Shanxi Pingyao Coal Chemical involves an investment of 3.1 billion yuan by Pingyao Coal Chemical Group. This project entails the upgrading and transformation of coke production facilities using 6.25-meter rammed coke ovens within the Pingyao Coal Chemical Industry Park, thereby enabling this traditionally energy-intensive and polluting industry to transition toward a low-carbon, circular, and sustainable development model, and enhancing the company’s core competitive advantages. As a landmark project for the upgrading of traditional industries in Pingyao County in recent years, its completion will help to eliminate outdated production capacities, increase the coking capacity of Pingyao Coal Chemical Group, and improve the supporting infrastructure for the coking industry. This will lay a more solid foundation for the economic development and industrial advancement of the entire county. According to Zeng Zhichun, the project leader, the project features China’s first coke oven sealing system equipped with a combined ramming coal-loading and coke pushing machine. It utilizes artificial intelligence to automatically regulate flue gas flow for the first time, aiming to create a benchmark demonstration project for coking in Shanxi Province that excels in all aspects: design, technology, equipment, management, and environmental protection.
