Construction of Yulin Haierxi’s 150,000 tons/year MTBE production project has begun

On the morning of May 15, the Yulin Haierxi tetraolefin isomerization project, which aims to produce 150,000 tons of MTBE per year as well as 300,000 tons of refined oil per year, began construction in the Qingshui Industrial Park of the Yulin Economic Development Zone. The implementation of this project not only provides crucial support for extending, strengthening, and improving the modern coal chemical industry in the park, but it also marks a \"zero breakthrough\" for Zhejiang investors in Yulin Economic Development Zone, injecting new momentum into the high-quality transformation of the region’s energy and chemical industry. Leveraging advanced and mature production processes as well as environmental protection technologies, the project makes efficient use of the abundant C4 by-products available in the industrial park. Through further processing of these C4 materials, products such as MTBE and refined oils are produced; it also extends its operations downstream to high-value fine chemicals like isobutylene and polyisobutylene. This will significantly improve the efficiency and level of resource utilization in the park, helping it to accelerate the development of a modern coal chemical industry that is characterized by high-end capabilities, diversity, and low carbon emissions. It will also help establish the park as a core area for high-end energy and chemical industries, as well as a pilot zone for the advancement of these three aspects of development. At present, various tasks related to the preliminary preparation of the project and site construction are progressing steadily, with a efficient and orderly pace of work. Efforts are being made to complete the construction as soon as possible, so that the facility can begin operating, its production capacity can be utilized, and benefits can be realized, thereby contributing more to the high-quality development of Yulin Economic Development Zone.
