Foundation-laying ceremony for DuPont™ Molycote™ high-performance specialty lubricants production facility in Zhangjiagang

On the morning of November 18, 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for DuPont™ Molycote™ high-performance specialty lubricants’ production facility in Zhangjiagang was held in the Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone. The production facility will be located in the Yangtze River International Chemical Industrial Park within the Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone, and is expected to begin operations in early 2027. In 2018, DuPont signed a project for the DuPont Made in China Facility (Zhangjiagang) with Zhangjiagang City, intended to host DuPont’s future major investments in China. The first adhesive production project has already been put into operation successfully. The high-performance special lubricant project, for which the foundation was laid this time, represents another significant investment by DuPont at its Zhangjiagang facility. The agreement for this project was signed in November 2024, and the construction permit was obtained on October 23 of this year, after which construction commenced. The products include special greases and special pastes, which are mainly used in industries such as automotive, electronics, and energy. DuPont™ MOLYKOTE™ high-performance specialty lubricants are designed to meet the growing demand for specialized lubrication solutions in industries such as transportation, manufacturing, energy, and electronics in the Chinese market. The new factory will serve as a platform for innovation, collaboration, and growth, offering next-generation lubrication solutions efficiently and accurately through shorter delivery times, greater flexibility, and closer collaboration with local customers. Molique™ specialty lubricants include six product series – anti-friction coatings, composite pastes, dispersions, greases, lubricants, and ointments – and have been widely used in the automotive and industrial markets for over 70 years. In addition to helping engineers and manufacturers address and prevent friction and wear issues in the original equipment market, MoLique™ products are also widely used in the MRO market.
