Recently, the first large-scale equipment in the chemical new area of Maoming Petrochemical’s upgrade project was successfully lifted into place: the first ring reactor module of the No. 5 polypropylene plant. It is reported that to ensure smooth lifting, Maoming Petrochemical, in collaboration with the project management company, organized participating units such as the engineering construction company, Shijian Company, and the shipping company to plan meticulously and work together effectively. As a result, the ground modular assembly was completed in just 15 days, and at the same time, installations of anti-corrosion and insulation measures as well as electrical and instrumentation components were carried out, enabling the equipment to be ready for lifting. During the lifting process, thanks to the close coordination between the main crane of the 1,350-ton class crawler crane and the auxiliary crane of the 400-ton class crawler crane, the 370-ton equipment was lifted smoothly. The construction workers strictly followed the lifting plan, effectively overcame visual blind spots through real-time communication, and precisely carried out key operations such as lifting, rotating, and positioning. After more than 3 hours of continuous operation, the reactor module was accurately placed on its base, achieving a successful single lifting operation. It is understood that the chemical industry zone of Maoming Petrochemical’s upgrading and renovation project is located to the west of the original chemical plant area, covering an area of 3,000 mu. Within the region, 9 units are under construction, including polypropylene units No. 4 and No. 5.
