At 8:58 on January 5, the octene distillation tower (C-4210), a key piece of equipment for the new 30,000-ton/year POE industrial demonstration plant project operated by Daqing Petrochemical Company and supervised by Daqing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully lifted into place. The completion of this key milestone marks the official transition of the project from the civil construction phase to the installation phase, laying a solid foundation for the further progress of the work. It is reported that as the first major equipment lifting milestone for the POE project, the octene distillation tower being lifted this time has a diameter of 2.4 meters, a static weight of 30 tons, and a height of 60 meters. It is a core and critical piece of equipment in the entire plant system, and its successful installation marks a significant milestone for the project’s progress. Since the equipment arrived at the site on December 15, 2025, the project team has advanced the preliminary preparation work efficiently, completing the entire process of installing the pipelines attached to the tower, auxiliary components, and platform ladders, as well as carrying out insulation and anti-corrosion treatments, in just half a month. Faced with the extreme climate challenges of severe cold and frequent snowstorms in the Daqing area during winter, the supervision team took the initiative to work closely with the construction units. They adopted an innovative winter construction method that combined insulated sheds with steam curing, thereby ensuring precise control over the temperature during key processes such as concrete pouring, and guaranteeing that the project quality met all regulatory requirements.
