Three key sub-projects of the Zhongjing Petrochemical Alkanes Integration Base were officially signed

On January 17, three key sub-projects of the Zhongjing Petrochemical Deep Processing Industrial Park, the world’s largest integrated alkane production facility located in the Jiangyin Port City Economic Zone of Fuzhou, were officially signed. One of these sub-projects is linked to the end-market for consumer goods, another aims to expand into high-end sectors related to people’s livelihoods, and yet another seeks to gain a competitive edge in global markets – together they form the \"downstream strong-chain matrix\" of Sinochem’s alkane integration industrial chain. These three projects are as follows: the Lihébo Plastics Project, which aims to produce 500,000 tons of woven bags per year, with a total investment of 2 billion yuan; this project will create the shortest production pathway from propane to propylene to polypropylene to woven bags. The Hengfan Holdings Project, which intends to produce 200,000 tons of non-woven fabric per year, has a total investment of 1 billion yuan, and it is focused on areas with high growth demand such as medical protection and hygiene care. Lastly, there is the Zhongjing Petrochemical Project, which aims to produce 750,000 tons of BOPP per year, with a total investment of 6 billion yuan; the products produced here will be widely used in packaging for industries such as food delivery and logistics. It is reported that once these 3 sub-projects come online, they will not only enable the upstream Zhongjing Petrochemical propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene plants to operate at high capacity, for extended periods of time, and in a stable manner, thereby facilitating the transformation of the industrial chain toward higher-value-added areas; but they will also take advantage of the synergies resulting from their proximity to one another, thereby reducing logistics and production costs. This will result in the creation of a highly competitive polypropylene product manufacturing base both in China and around the world, providing a strong driving force for the regional economy.
