China Chemical News: On the morning of January 28, the inauguration ceremony for the Zhejiang High-End Chemical Technology Innovation Center was held. Xu Zhangyan, Deputy Secretary of the Quzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Quzhou, Ren Qilong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of the Zhejiang High-End Chemical Technology Innovation Center, and Dean of the Quzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University, and Jiang Dayong, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, delivered speeches respectively. Duan Xue, Sun Shigang, and Peng Xiaojun, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as Zheng Hejiang and Lü Liang, leaders of Quzhou City, attended the event. Xu Zhangyan pointed out that technological innovation is the core driving force for high-quality development. In recent years, Quzhou has adapted measures to local conditions and made vigorous efforts in technological innovation, achieving phased results. It is sincerely hoped that academicians and experts will provide stronger guidance, and that research talents will devote themselves to their work with diligence. Taking the inauguration of the park as a new starting point, we should focus on industry development and innovation, further streamline the entire process from basic research and pilot-scale testing to industrial application, pool our expertise to overcome a series of key technical challenges, accelerate the creation of landmark innovative achievements, and work together to develop a path for scientific and technological innovation with Quzhou’s own characteristics. Ren Ilong explained that since its establishment in 2022, the Provincial High-End Chemicals Technology Innovation Center has achieved solid results in areas such as breakthroughs in key technologies and the gathering of high-level talents. Next, by utilizing the industrial parks as a platform, we will continue to leverage the advantages of the concentration of universities, research institutions, and various other platforms, in order to enhance the quality and capabilities of these innovation platforms ； Focus on key areas, carry out collaborative efforts to tackle challenges, and accelerate the translation of a number of cutting-edge achievements into practical applications ； Deepen close collaboration with local entities to foster a positive cycle in which platforms bring together talents, talents drive teams, and teams lead to achievements. We sincerely invite academicians and experts to provide guidance for the high-quality development of the Provincial High-End Chemicals Technology Innovation Center, offer ideas for making breakthroughs in key technology innovations, and suggest effective strategies for the efficient transformation of research results. Jiang Dayong pointed out that the official inauguration of the park marks a new stage in the development of the Provincial High-End Chemicals Technology Innovation Center, as well as the beginning of a new journey for it. It is hoped to fully leverage the strategic supporting role of major science and innovation platforms, striving to achieve a number of landmark achievements with independent intellectual property rights ； Strengthen the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, and carry out joint efforts to address the needs of industrial development, thereby truly leveraging technological innovation to drive the development of new forms of productive capacity ； Advance in an integrated manner the reform and development of education, science and technology, and talent, foster deep integration between scientific innovation and industrial innovation, and accelerate the transition of more innovative achievements from laboratories to production lines. Following the inauguration ceremony, the attendees visited the Zhejiang High-End Chemical Technology Innovation Center complex, and inspected the exhibition areas and laboratories in the new building of the Quzhou Resources and Chemicals Innovation Institute. Zhou Xin, the executive dean of Quhua Institute, said that as an important part of the Zhejiang High-End Chemicals Technology Innovation Center, Quhua Institute was among the first institutions to settle in the park. It will focus on its development goals, concentrate on technology research and development as well as the transformation of research results, deepen integration among industry, academia, and research institutions, and accelerate the implementation of scientific and technological achievements. This will help to write a new chapter in terms of technological self-reliance and industrial advancement, providing solid support for the development of the technology innovation center and injecting sustained and strong innovative momentum into the high-quality development of Quzhou and Zhejiang.
