Shandong Qixiang New Materials’ project to produce 150,000 tons per year of green, low-carbon, highly dispersed silica gel, along with 145,000 tons per year of baking soda

On February 2, the first public consultation announcement regarding the environmental impact assessment for QiXiang New Materials (Shandong) Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 150,000 tons per year of green, low-carbon, highly dispersed silica gel, along with 145,000 tons per year of baking soda, was released. The announcement states that the company plans to invest 1.02 billion yuan to build this project within its existing facility located in the Lushan Chemical Industry Park in Yishui County, Linyi City. The project is constructed in two phases; Phase 1 includes 50,000 tons per year of biomass-based nano-inorganic fillers and 50,000 tons per year of baking soda ； Phase 2 includes 50,000 tons per year of nano-inorganic fillers produced by the carbon dioxide method, 50,000 tons per year of special nano-inorganic fillers, and 95,000 tons of baking soda.
