Recently, the mechanical completion ceremony for the sulfur recovery unit was held at the China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base project, which was constructed through EPC general contracting by China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. under China Chemical Engineering. This marks the official entry of the construction of this unit into its final phase. Ning Jianping, a member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of the company, attended the ceremony. Since the project began, the project team has faced challenges such as poor weather conditions, technical complexity, and tight deadlines; after 18 months of work, it successfully completed the mechanical construction of the sulfur recovery unit. The project’s capacity is 2.2 million tons per year of methanol and 900,000 tons per year of polyolefins. It is the first coal chemical project approved by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in line with the **\"3060\" dual-carbon strategy goals**, and it serves as a pilot project for evaluating carbon emissions in the coal chemical industry. It will provide a model for the modern coal chemical industry in terms of environmental management and climate change mitigation, carrying the important mission of serving as a model for high-quality development and driving industrial transformation and upgrading. The mechanical completion of the sulfur recovery unit represents both a milestone and a new starting point. The project team will continue to implement the \"135\" development strategy, uphold the \"Six Dedications\" spirit, and organize subsequent construction work with high standards and strict requirements. It will also ensure high-quality conduct of joint commissioning, performance testing, and stable operation, so as to deliver a top-quality project to the client. China Coal Shaanxi Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Coal Group Corporation Limited. With a registered capital of 11.077 billion yuan, it is located in the Yuheng Industrial Park in Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. The first phase of the facility has an annual production capacity of 2.05 million tons of methanol and 600,000 tons of polyolefins, along with associated utility systems; it was completed and put into operation in July 2014. The second phase of the coal chemical project in the China Coal Yulin Deep Processing Coal Base costs 23.888 billion yuan. It is located in the southern area of the Energy and Chemical Industry Zone in the Yuheng Industrial Zone of Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. The main construction activities include producing 2.2 million tons per year of methanol and 900,000 tons per year of polyolefins; at the same time, the existing first-phase coal chemical facility will be upgraded, with projects for producing 250,000 tons per year of LDPE/EVA as well as related supporting facilities being built. The main units of the project include air separation, gasification, purification, sulfur recovery, methanol synthesis, MTO, olefin separation, 3 polyolefin units, and 1 EVA unit, among others. The gasification unit utilizes the gasification patent technology of Air Chemical Products Co., Ltd., namely the semi-waste boiler process water-coal slurry gasification technology, and is under the overall contract management of Sinochem Tianchen Company.
