The approval for an expansion project to produce 18,000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate per year in Jiangxi is set to be announced. On February 9th, the Ganzhou Administrative Approval Bureau issued a notice regarding the approval of the environmental impact assessment report for Shi Lei Fluorine Materials’ project to increase production of lithium hexafluorophosphate by 18,000 tons per year in Huichang. The specific details of the project are as follows: Project name: Shilei Fluorine Materials Huichang’s capacity expansion project for the production of 18,000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate per year ; Construction location: Huishan Fluorine Chemical Industry Base, Kuichang City, Jiangxi Province ; Construction unit: Jiangxi Shilei Fluorine Materials Co., Ltd ; Nature of construction: technical renovation ; Project investment: Total investment amount of 56.49 million yuan ; Product solution: This project involves technical upgrades to the existing 6,000-ton lithium hexafluorophosphate production facility. Products and production capacity of this project after the technical upgrade: 18,000 t/a of lithium hexafluorophosphate, 2,400 t/a of hydrogen fluoride as a by-product, and 72,000 t/a of hydrochloric acid. Upon completion and commissioning of this project, the total production capacity of the plant will be: 36,000 tons per year of lithium hexafluorophosphate, along with 4,800 tons per year of hydrogen fluoride as a by-product, and 144,000 tons per year of hydrochloric acid.
