First public announcement of the environmental impact assessment for Sinopec Cangzhou Branch’s 200,000 tons/year sustainable aviation fuel conversion project

On February 6, the environmental impact assessment for Sinopec Cangzhou Branch’s 200,000 tons per year sustainable aviation fuel production project was made publicly available for the first time. According to the public announcement documents, the project is located at Sinopec Cangzhou Refining & Chemical Company in Xinhua District, Cangzhou City, with an investment amount of 789.76 million yuan. The project plans to reuse part of the existing 600,000 tons per year diesel and gasoline hydrotreating unit to convert it into a 200,000 tons per year aviation fuel production facility, along with a 200,000 tons per year raw material pretreatment unit. The main products will be aviation fuel and bio-naphtha, with a small amount of gas produced as a by-product. Current project status and environmental protection measures: The company’s current crude oil processing capacity is 3.5 million tons per year. The main production units include: 3.5 million tons per year of atmospheric and vacuum distillation, 1.2 million tons per year of catalytic cracking, 1.2 million tons per year of delayed coking, 800,000 tons per year of hydrocracking of gasoline and diesel, 1.6 million tons per year of hydrocracking of diesel, 80,000 tons per year of benzene extraction, 900,000 tons per year of S-zorb processing, 400,000 tons per year of continuous reforming, 300,000 tons per year of gas fractionation, 50,000 tons per year of MTBE production, 20,000 tons per year of sulfur production, and a hydrogen production capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per hour.
