On May 31, 2023, the integrated demonstration project of degradable and high-performance new materials of Inner Mongolia Zhuozheng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. was registered. The construction site is Nalin River Industrial Park, Sulige Economic Development Zone, Wushen Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The total investment is 55 million yuan, of which 16.5 million yuan is self-owned funds. The planned construction start and end period is from May 2025 to December 2030. Construction scale and content Project construction scale: The main products are polyglycolic acid (PGA) 800,000 t/a, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) 200,000 t/a, polyoxymethylene (POM) 60,000 t/a, acetic acid 450,000 t/a, and vinyl acetate 20,000 t/a. ； By-products include ethanol, mixed alcohols, polyglycolic acid oligomers, dimethyl ether, methyl acetate, methyl formate, high-pressure low-density polyethylene (LDPE), polyols, heavy component alcohols, crude phenol, liquid ammonia, coal tar, upgraded coal, liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), sulfur, naphtha, special diesel, sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, etc. Project construction content includes: Raw coal pyrolysis and upgrading pretreatment device, gasification device, conversion device, purification device, synthesis device, sulfur recovery, carbon monoxide (CO) cryogenic separation, pressure swing adsorption (PSA) hydrogen production, methanol device, ethanol device, acetic acid device, formaldehyde device, polyformaldehyde (POM) device, methyl glycolate (MG) device, polyglycolic acid (PGA) device, ethylene device, vinyl acetate device, Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) device, liquefied natural gas (LNG) device, electrolyzed water hydrogen production device, coal tar hydrogenation device, etc., supporting the construction of water supply, power supply, gas supply, steam supply, etc. from the park to the factory area and the factory area, as well as air separation, thermal power, raw material storage and transportation, various raw water, water and sewage treatment and other public and auxiliary facilities, service projects and living welfare facilities, off-site ash dump, etc. It is reported that Inner Mongolia Zhuozheng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. was established in May 2005. Its main business projects are the production and sales of methanol and by-products. The largest shareholder is Inner Mongolia Huineng Coal and Electricity Group, with a shareholding ratio of 50%. The company aims to build a world-class energy and modern coal chemical industry positioning around Ordos City, complete investment and acquisitions in 2022, and restart large-scale modern coal chemical projects. The overall project is based on the original annual output of 1.2 million tons of methanol and 1 million tons of acetic acid projects, and adopts domestic and foreign advanced new technologies, new processes and new equipment in the fields of coal mass fractionation pyrolysis, large-scale coal chemical industry, petrochemical industry and green hydrogen coupling. It will eventually form an annual output of 2.6 million tons of new material products such as PGA and EVA, and achieve industry chain extension, cluster savings and high-quality development of coal chemical projects. The project will be constructed in two phases and four phases in total. After the project is fully completed and reaches capacity, it will be able to convert 6.5 million tons of coal on site annually, achieve an output value of 36 billion yuan, pay taxes and fees of 3.6 billion yuan, create jobs for more than 3,500 people, and contribute to the high-quality development of the regional economy.
