Recently, the approval for the record-filing of Zhejiang’s 250,000 tons per year carbon dioxide recovery technical upgrade project was granted. Project investment: The total investment amounts to 50.3837 million yuan, of which 44.1841 million yuan is allocated to fixed asset investments. Planned start date: February 2026; planned completion date: December 2026. Scale and scope of the project: This project is located on the west side of Pinghai Road in the Jiaxing Port Area of Zhejiang Province, within Sanjiang Chemical Co., Ltd. It involves the renovation of the EO/EG units in phases 2 through 6 at this facility, as well as the corresponding carbon dioxide recovery systems. The plan is to replace one carbon dioxide recovery unit with a capacity of 50,000 tons per year with a new unit having a capacity of 250,000 tons per year. Upon completion of production, this project will have the capacity to produce 20,000 tons per year of food-grade liquid carbon dioxide, 180,000 tons per year of food-grade gaseous carbon dioxide, 20,000 tons per year of food-grade dry ice, and 1,000 tons per year of electronic-grade liquid carbon dioxide. This project enables full treatment of the exhaust gases generated by the associated equipment; compared to the original system, its processing capacity has increased from 50,000 tons per year to 250,000 tons per year, resulting in near-zero carbon dioxide emissions. The carbon dioxide recovery rate for this project is over 94%.
