85 electrolyzers: Announcement on Huadian’s 47,000-ton green hydrogen project. On February 28, 2026, the official website of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region’s Department of Ecology and Environment published a notice regarding the acceptance status of the environmental impact assessment documents for Huadian’s integrated wind and solar hydrogen production project in Damao Banner, Inner Mongolia. Construction content and scale: Wind and photovoltaic components: The total installed capacity for new energy power generation in this project is 1,000 MW, of which 700 MW comes from wind power and 300 MW from photovoltaics. 70 wind turbines with a capacity of 10 MW each will be installed, while the photovoltaic panels will be of the 710–740 Wp half-cell double-glass N-type cell type, along with related supporting equipment. Hydrogen production section: It includes the installation of 83 alkaline electrolyzers with a capacity of 1000 Nm³/h each, 1 electrolyzer with a capacity of 2000 Nm³/h, and 1 electrolyzer with a capacity of 3000 Nm³/h, enabling an annual hydrogen production capacity of around 47,000 tons. There are also 25 hydrogen storage tanks with a capacity of 2000 cubic meters each, giving a total hydrogen storage capacity of 650,000 Nm³, along with other supporting equipment. Land area: The total land area of the project’s hydrogen production facility is 362,666.67 m² ； The wind power section covers a total area of 2,600,550 m², of which the permanent land area is approximately 120,090 m² and the temporary land area is 2,480,470 m² ； The total land area used for the photovoltaic power plant is approximately 5,371,420 m², of which 4,510 m² is allocated for box transformers, 118,660 m² is leased for maintenance roads, and approximately 5,226,690 m² is leased for the photovoltaic arrays. Total investment: The total investment for this project is 5,383.29 million yuan, of which 18.825 million yuan is allocated to environmental protection measures, accounting for 0.35% of the total investment.
