On March 2, the Nanping Ecology and Environment Bureau accepted the environmental impact assessment report for Shao Wu Yonghe Jintang New Materials Co., Ltd.’s project to increase annual production capacity to 44kt of difluorochloromethane and 10kt of materials suitable for incineration, as well as to carry out upgrades to the fluoropolymer production facilities. The relevant details of the project are as follows: Project name: Shao Wu Yonghe’s project to increase annual production capacity to 44kt of difluorochloromethane and 10kt of materials suitable for incineration, along with upgrades to fluoropolymer production facilities； Construction unit: Shaowu Yonghe Jintang New Materials Co., Ltd ； Construction location: Jintang Industrial Park, Shaowu City. Project type: renovation and expansion ； Investment amount: Total investment of 110.69 million yuan ； Construction details: This expansion and renovation project will enable the production of 3 types of products, namely the copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene-perfluoroethylene (THV), ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE), and difluorochloromethane (F22). The production capacity for both THV and ETFE is 1,000 tons per year, while the production capacity for F22 is 44,000 tons per year (for internal use only, not for sale) ； The by-products of production include off-spec products of THV and ETFE, aqueous hydrofluoric acid (30%), sulfuric acid (85-90%), and hydrochloric acid (31-36%). Upon completion of the renovation and expansion, flexible production of THV, ETFE, and PVDF will continue, with the total production capacity remaining at 10,000 ta (this environmental impact assessment is based on the highest level of pollution generation; that is, the production capacity for THV and ETFE is 1,000 t/a each, while the production capacity for PVDF is 8,000 t/a)
