The smelting furnace, the key equipment for the P05 pyrometallurgical testing line project of Huaxing Nickel Industry (Indonesia) Co., Ltd., was successfully ignited and preheated. Recently, in South Sulawesi province in Indonesia, a loud command broke the hustle and bustle at the plant site – at the location of the P05 pyrometallurgical testing line project built by China National Chemical Engineering Second Construction Company, the smelting furnace, the core equipment of this project, was successfully ignited and preheated. As a large-scale pyrometallurgical testing line that adopts the internationally advanced oxygen-enriched side-blown melting process, this project has had green principles integrated into it from the very beginning of its design. The project covers an area of approximately 30 hectares, with a total investment of 270 million dollars. Once fully operational, it will be capable of producing 40,000 tons of high-ice nickel per year. Compared to traditional processes, the benefits brought by this \"Chinese solution\" are evident: operational costs and carbon emissions are reduced by over 10% each, while electricity consumption is cut by more than 50%. In terms of efficient resource utilization and environmental protection, the project has achieved a qualitative leap. This is a practical measure taken by Erhua Jian to implement the \"dual carbon\" concept and promote the advancement of green smelting technologies. With a global perspective, the project team proactively adapted to the rules of overseas markets and explored new technologies and processes in nickel smelting. This not only helped create new growth opportunities for the company but also provided valuable insights for the transformation and upgrading of the metallurgical industry in Indonesia and around the world, enabling Chinese equipment to make headway in the competitive international market.
