On March 22, good news kept coming in from the Alxa Phase II project site, where the third lifting command team of Sinochem Second Construction’s Heavy Machinery Company was responsible for the lifting operations. The task of lifting the lower section of the first carbonation tower in the sodium bicarbonate carbonation crystallization plant was successfully completed. It is reported that the equipment to be lifted this time weighs 186 tons, with dimensions of 16754mm×3600mm. The team used an XGC400-1 crawler crane with a 72-meter main boom, a 150-ton lifting counterweight, and a 16-meter positioning radius as the main lifting device, while a QUY300 crawler crane assisted in guiding the equipment into place; these heavy-duty machines worked together to ensure precise positioning. Furthermore, facing the challenging task of rotating a rectangular device 90 degrees axially, this lifting team tackled the problem with creativity and ingenuity. By using a specially designed saddle in combination with a cylindrical roller mechanism, they successfully overcame the difficulties associated with turning heavy components, enabling their safe, stable placement with millimeter-level precision. The first lift was successfully completed, securing a decisive victory. The successful completion of this critical milestone paves the way for subsequent lifting operations of the carbonization tower series and sets a benchmark.
