Recently, the first lifting operation for the 300,000-ton-per-year high-pressure low-density polyethylene unit of the Tarim 1.2 million tons per year Phase II ethylene project, which was constructed by a consortium formed by Jilin Chemical Construction’s Fourth Branch and Daqing Company, was successfully completed. All three packaging silos were installed accurately in place and passed the inspection on the first attempt. It is reported that, as the core equipment for the finished product packaging unit of this installation, there are a total of 3 packaging silos to be installed; each one has a net weight of 30 tons, a diameter of 6 meters, and a height of 32.05 meters. They are to be installed on the top-level framework at an elevation of 39.3 meters in the packaging factory building. After the silo is delivered to the site by the prefabrication plant, it must cross the styrene-butadiene rubber walkway and be transported again before it can reach its installation location. Transportation and lifting operations are quite challenging, placing higher demands on the project team’s technical solutions as well as its ability to coordinate efforts effectively. To ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient placement of the packaging silos, the project team planned ahead and made thorough arrangements, developing a specialized transportation and lifting construction plan. For the secondary lifting operation, a 350-ton all-terrain crane is used, along with a 20-meter balance beam and 10-ton chain blocks to adjust the lifting center of gravity; this allows the silo to be lifted smoothly and transported across the walkway. After secondary loading and sealing, it is delivered to the site safely ; On-site lifting is carried out using a 600-ton all-terrain crane as the main lifting device, with a 120-ton all-terrain crane used to assist in the lifting process. The lifting task was ultimately completed successfully.
