Recently, the installation of the 800-ton continuous linear winch, a project part of the development of offshore oil fields in Angola, undertaken by the Angola branch of China National Chemical Engineering Third Construction Company, was successfully completed. As a key component of the underwater natural gas pipeline towing operation, this project provides the essential drive for such operations, ensuring the unobstructed supply of raw materials to the subsequent natural gas processing facilities and thus laying a solid foundation for the full operation of the project. The 800-ton continuous linear winch installed this time is a world-first patented device. It consists of two hydraulic systems, weighs 47.5 tons each, and uses hydraulic-driven clamps to pull steel cables with a diameter of 117.6 millimeters to connect pipes. It boasts an extremely high pulling capacity of 800 tons, and is used to pull 26-inch submarine pipes through underwater tunnels in order to achieve precise connection between land-based and submarine pipelines; it serves as the \"core artery\" of natural gas transmission systems. During the construction process, the project team made full use of its excellent capabilities in project organization and resource management.
