On April 26, the Southwest Branch, which is in charge of the EPC general contracting for the Ulaanbaatar West 7L3F LNG plant’s pipeline natural gas direct liquefaction renovation project (referred to as the Ulaanbaatar West 6L3F renovation project), successfully installed the main cryogenic tank. This marks another key milestone in the project, following the successful installation of two feed gas compressors on April 25; it creates favorable conditions for the subsequent installation and commissioning of process piping as well as electrical and instrumentation systems. As the first core equipment of the project in the 100-ton class and the heaviest individual unit, the main cryogenic tank is approximately 22 meters tall and weighs 127 tons. The progress of its delivery directly determines whether the target dates for resuming work on the Wuhai 3X7L3F LNG project can be met on schedule. The Southwest Branch has made this its top priority, planning in advance and coordinating the schedules for design, procurement, and construction. During the design phase, taking into account the operational requirements of the LNG project, it organized multiple on-site inspections and specialized technical discussions; these efforts not only improved the process design but also led to the development of a main cryogenic tank suitable for the scale of the project. Additionally, it assisted the client in preparing the tender documents for the cryogenic tank equipment, thereby creating favorable conditions for the smooth delivery of the equipment to the site. Before carrying out the lifting operation of the cold storage, the Southwest Branch, in collaboration with the owner, the First Construction Company and other project participants, carefully planned the operation and developed a lifting scheme known as the “single-machinery lifting and delivery method”. This scheme involved using two truck cranes, with capacities of 1200 tons and 350 tons, to carry out the lifting. Following a special review of the construction plan organized by the owner, third-party inspections were conducted to verify the requirements regarding foundation bearing capacity and lifting equipment. All aspects related to the personnel and the condition of the cranes were also checked to ensure they were in proper condition. Through the joint efforts of all parties, the installation was ultimately completed safely, efficiently, and smoothly in accordance with the scheduled milestones, thus meeting the key deadlines for long-term supply and installation. Next, the Southwest Branch will, in line with the goals of \"raising awareness, strictly controlling the project timeline, ensuring quality and quantity, and guaranteeing timely commissioning,\" strengthen cooperation with the participating units to accelerate on-site construction, installation, and debugging efforts. This will ensure that the Wuhaixi 4th Unit technical upgrade project is commissioned on schedule and to the required standard, thereby helping the X3 3LNG plant to resume full operations at an early date and achieve its intended production capacity.
