On May 1, the heat treatment of the first 8,800 m³ spherical tank in Phase 1 of the Lobito refinery in Angola was successfully completed, laying a solid foundation for subsequent hydrostatic testing and marking another milestone in the project’s development. The heat treatment process for this spherical tank utilized the diesel internal combustion method, and the on-site ignition was successful on the first attempt, officially kicking off the heat treatment work. During the operation period, the combustion system operated continuously and stably. The project’s technical and construction teams monitored the construction process closely, exercising precise control over key parameters such as the rate of temperature increase, the duration of maintaining a constant temperature, and the rate of temperature decrease. The maximum operating temperature reached 615°C accurately, and all critical technical parameters met the industry standards and design requirements. The construction quality was under consistent control, which created favorable conditions for subsequent pressure tests and the overall commissioning of the system.
