Zhongke Fuhydro (Shandong) New Energy Co., Ltd.’s 200,000 tons per year silica project using the carbon dioxide acidification method

On May 29, a pre-approval public notice was issued for the planning permit related to the construction site of Zhongke Fuhydrogen (Shandong) New Energy Co., Ltd.’s 200,000 tons per year silica gel production facility using the carbon dioxide acidification method. The total investment for this project is 1.02 billion yuan, with construction carried out in three phases. Phase 1 requires an investment of 360 million yuan, and upon completion it will enable an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of silica. Phases 2 and 3 together will result in an annual production capacity of 140,000 tons of silica. The project adopts the carbon dioxide acidification process, using carbon dioxide to replace traditional inorganic acids in the reactions; this represents an important technological approach for the silica industry to transition toward green, low-carbon, and cleaner production methods.
