The lifting operations for the upper and lower sections of the cryogenic tank in the safety hazard remediation project for the air separation and air compression units at Changqing Petrochemical Company have been successfully completed

As the core equipment of air separation units, the cryogenic tank has a weight of 37.9 tons and a length of 23.5 meters in its lower section, while the upper section weighs 24 tons and is 20 meters long. It features a high length-to-diameter ratio, poor rigidity, and is prone to deformation, making it extremely difficult to lift. Faced with multiple challenges such as synchronized control during lifting with two cranes, the high risk of swaying of long components, and limited space, the project was carefully planned: a segmented lifting method using a 260t truck crane as the main lifting device and an 80t truck crane for assisting was adopted, and a balance beam was specifically designed to effectively eliminate horizontal forces and protect the equipment housing and lifting lugs. Before the lifting operation, the project team completed the technical preparations, including plan formulation, strength verification, load calculation, and reevaluation of ground bearing capacity. On that day, the main crane and the auxiliary crane worked in coordination; the equipment was lifted off the ground smoothly, turned upright, and placed in position with precision. The entire process was carried out safely, with the load rate kept below 74.6%.

Currently, the overall progress of this project has reached 50%. Work such as steel bar binding in the cable trenches of the air compressor plant, installation of platform beams in the external pipeline corridors, and laying of electrical protection pipes was carried out simultaneously. A total of 12 units of equipment have been installed, 4033.7 inches of welds on the process pipelines have been completed, 80% of the grounding flat bars have been laid, and 68% of the water supply and drainage pipelines have been installed.
