For working in chemical engineering processes, what software is needed? If the budget allows (no issues with funding), what should be used?
AUTOCAD, OFFICE, PROii or Aspen Plus

Is software such as heat exchangers needed, or are there specialized programs for this purpose?
For chemical process design, ProII seems less useful than SolidWorks.
There are many software options, and it depends on what you prioritize; it’s not possible to do everything. For process calculation and simulation, there are tools such as Aspen Pro, ICAD, and TRIS. For drawing, there are various CAD programs available

Design simulation: ASPEN, PROII, CHEMCAD, etc. Mathematical calculations: MATLAB. Graphing: AUTOCAD. 3D modeling: SP3D, PDS, PDMS, Smartplant. As for Adobe and Office programs, there’s no need to mention them; it’s not necessary to be proficient in all of them
It depends on what area you are working in For gas treatment tasks, CAD/HYSYS/HTRI/KG-TOWER are sufficient.
