Our unit uses TYCO pneumatic ball valves. These valves have four ventilation holes: two are connected to instrument air, while the other two are not. Is this related to the difference between air-operated open and air-operated closed valves? Also, once it is determined that the valve should operate in air-operated open mode, can the remaining two holes be blocked off?

Indicates no knowledge of this valve. However, among the valves we use, there are those with the same external structure, but whose oil return ports are sealed off. Because hydraulic oil does not enter at this interface.
No pictures, no truth – is it an air vent? That can’t be blocked off
Isn’t the air release done through the solenoid valve? I’m not sure either what that hole is for; under normal conditions it doesn’t show any reaction, but these past few days there’s been air leakage. The valve can’t be adjusted yet, and I suspect the seal ring is damaged. Is it possible to block that hole?
Show me the picture; I’ve never seen their actuating mechanism.
You have four holes; there should be two chambers, with two holes in each chamber – one hole connected to the air supply and one hole leading to the atmosphere. It’s possible that the piston seal is no longer functioning properly……
