We produce isooctane using an alkylation unit; the biggest problem at the moment is that we can’t deal with sulfates, as there is no one who knows how to handle them. . Does anyone know how to deal with this? . . .
The sulfates produced during the alkylation process are actually intermediates in the production process; they can be hydrolyzed in hot water, but the hydrolysis is not complete. If there is a waste sulfuric acid regeneration unit, incineration is sufficient.
