Inconel 600 and Inconel 800H

800 has a lower nickel content compared to 600; it contains more elements such as molybdenum, titanium, and copper. Its resistance to corrosive substances is slightly better than that of 600, but whether this represents an actual advantage depends on the operating conditions, as the corrosion resistance of metals varies under different conditions.

Incoloy 800H (NO8810) is a nickel-based alloy with a Cr content of typically 15–25% and a nickel content of 30–45%, along with small amounts of aluminum and titanium. Compared to Incoloy 800 alloy, reducing the carbon content from less than or equal to 0.1% to 0.05–0.1% further enhances the strength of the steel. This alloy has a high chromium content and sufficient nickel content, which gives it excellent resistance to high-temperature corrosion; as a result, it is widely used in industry. It exhibits excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chlorides, low-concentration NaOH aqueous solutions, and high-temperature and high-pressure water, which is why it is used in the manufacture of equipment resistant to stress corrosion cracking.
