What is the difference between a cap and a foundation?

Recently, while looking at diagrams, I came across cap foundations and base foundations; I’m not sure what the difference between them is
The main difference between a cap foundation and a standalone foundation is that a cap foundation has piles beneath it, while a standalone foundation does not. The full name of the cap is “cap pile foundation”. Force application: The cap is subjected to the concentrated force from the piles, whereas the soil reaction on an independent shallow foundation is a surface load. Bending and shear are similar; the only difference is that for cap foundations, the punching effect of a pile on the cap must be taken into account. Similarities: The shape (stepped, sloped, cup-shaped) is similar, the structure is similar, and the reinforcement is also similar.
