Selection of heating furnaces for hydrogenation reactions

Hello everyone, I have a question I’d like to ask you: In our factory, the hydrogenation units mostly use a pre-heater hydrogen mixing process, and pure radiant heating furnaces are employed for this purpose. I would like to know why pure radiant heating furnaces are chosen
This post was last edited by King of the Hills on 2015-6-9 at 19:02, mainly to reduce investments. 1 If it is a furnace being put into operation, a pure radiation design is sufficient; there is no need to consider waste heat recovery. 2 If it is a reactor operating under normal conditions. Generally, furnace tubes are quite expensive; using them in the convection chamber would be a waste of these tubes, and it could also reduce the pressure drop. Convection can be used in another way to recover the residual heat.
Our reactor is also a pure radiation reactor; the fractionation furnace has a convection section, and the air preheating system is shared with the fractionation furnace.
