Entering the crane cab and taking a glance at the control panel, the various buttons and switches scattered there are the \"keys\" that allow the crane to be operated with precision. But with so many buttons for controlling the switches, and given the frequent operation of the crane – moving back and forth constantly – various \"problems\" are bound to arise over time. In the daily use of cranes, the most common problem with button control switches is failure to function. There are many reasons that can cause a switch to fail, which are generally as follows: 1. The button-controlled switch becomes outdated, aged, deformed, loose, or its springs fail, leading to loose contacts, poor connections, or short circuits between phases ; 2. The button-controlled switch fails to maintain proper cleanliness during crane maintenance; furthermore, the sealing performance of the switch deteriorates after use, allowing dust, oil, emulsions and other impurities to enter it. This leads to a decrease in the insulation of the internal wiring, and may even result in short circuits ; 3. The ambient temperature in the area where the crane is located is high, and the plastic material used in button control switches can degrade and deform due to these high temperatures, resulting in the failure of the switches. The same issue occurs with button control switches that have lights, as the light bulbs overheat over time. To extend the service life of the crane’s button control switches as much as possible and ensure the effective and timely operation of the crane, we should pay attention to conducting regular inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and checks on the sealing. Additionally, the service life of switch controls with lighted buttons can be extended by replacing the low-voltage bulbs.
