Hello everyone: The manufacturer fabricated an oil cooler for us with a heat exchange area of 41.6㎡. Upon disassembling the end caps, it was found that 4 tubes were blocked. It is likely that the manufacturer detected these blockages during the pressure testing for leak detection before shipment. However, as the users of this equipment, we consider it to be defective. When we asked the manufacturer about this, they stated that the leakage was within acceptable limits. Do any of you have any standard references regarding this?
There are indeed standard requirements for this, but the products manufactured developed leaks before even being used, and neither the design institute nor the client was aware of this, which definitely violates the procedural requirements. I remember that the previous standard definitions clearly stated that leak sealing could only be carried out with the approval of the design institute or the owner.
Is it possible? Hehe, the designed flow rate and cooling parameters certainly won’t meet the requirements; it’s likely they’re trying to deceive you because of material issues or in order to cut costs, and thus they don’t want to go through the processing process.
Oil cooling with ordinary tubes (not efficient) can be resolved by simply replacing the faulty tube; it’s a minor issue! Probably the manufacturer doesn’t want to go through the hassle! I’ve never heard of delivering goods like this!
