Classification of hazardous areas in electrolysis plant explosions

I just reviewed the draft of the \"Safety Design Specifications for Caustic Soda Plants\" prepared by Tianchen Company; clause 9.2.1 states that the area above 1 meter above the electrolyzers in the electrolysis plant should be classified as a Zone 2 explosion-hazardous area. How should this be understood? Does it refer to the semi-circular space above the tank top with a radius of 1 meter, centered on the source at the top of the tank, as Zone 2?
I think this question is pointless. If an explosion really did occur, one should hurry and escape. Besides, why is there nothing on the top of the factory building? If an explosion were to happen, it would have occurred inside the factory building long ago
It cannot be said outright that this issue is unimportant; for engineering design, explosion-proof electrical equipment is not necessary in areas outside the explosion zone.
It seems that all the electrical equipment in electrolysis plants is explosion-proof
The copper bars in the electrolyzer should be exposed; it can’t be called explosion-proof – aren’t they afraid of electric sparks?
