In the municipal industry, for construction projects, steam boilers are classified into large, medium, and small sizes as follows: large – 3*75t/h or more; medium – 3*75t/h to 3*20t/h; small – less than 3*20t/h
However, according to the interpretation of the \"Notice on Issuing the Implementation Plan for the Comprehensive Energy-Saving and Environmental Protection Improvement Project for Coal-Fired Boilers\", issued jointly by seven ministries and commissions: by the end of 2015, all coal-fired boilers with a capacity of 10 tons per hour or less in the built-up areas of cities at the prefecture level and above in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and its surrounding areas were to be phased out, while all coal-fired boilers in the built-up areas of Beijing were to be eliminated; By 2017, coal-fired boilers with a capacity of 10 tons per hour or less had been largely phased out in the built-up areas of cities at the prefecture level and above; in Tianjin and the cities at the prefecture level and above in Hebei Province, coal-fired boilers with a capacity of 35 tons per hour or less were essentially eliminated from these areas. Based on the above policies, small, medium, and large sizes can be further divided into three categories: below 10 t/h, 10–35 t/h, and above 35 t/h.
