Several control valves in the PSA are set to automatic mode – why do their set values still change on their own?

For example, the control valve used in the flushing process is set to automatic mode; it should be such that only the opening degree of the control valve changes. So why does its set value change on its own?
Series regulation is where the given value changes on its own.
This valve is controlled by a program; it has preset upper and lower limit positions, and its opening degree changes as the adsorption process progresses. The lower limit ensures that the adsorption pressure is exactly reduced to the normal pressure at the end of the normal operation, while the upper limit ensures that the pressure in the normal operation tank drops to 0.03 MPa at the start of normal operation.
I know that the upper and lower limits you mentioned refer to the slope, but it’s automatic now, not a slope
