It is possible, but the hydrolysis capacity of organic sulfur in the existing device must be taken into account.
My experience: 1. Our initial design was to send it in front of the exhaust incinerator. In actual operation, for a long time, sulfur has been discharged into the atmosphere by climbing up a sulfur chimney to a height of 40 meters. Later, due to odor problems, the first attempt to introduce it was done using an idle incinerator (two incinerators shared one chimney); in fact, it was fed into the outlet of another operating incinerator (the inlet of the chimney), which resulted in continuous flash explosions. 2. Then I directed it onto the air duct at the entrance of the incinerator, with the aim of exceeding the lower limit for ignition of the combustible materials carried by it; this worked fine for several years. However, due to an accidental factor, liquefied gas was used, and the flash explosion shattered the guide vanes of the incinerator’s burner. Then it continues into the low-pressure gas pipeline network. 3. In 2006 in Hainan, gas was mixed in at a concentration of over 16% to exceed the upper limit for combustible materials’ explosion threshold, and it was then used as fuel in a certain heating furnace. I’m just saying that’s how it was designed; I don’t know how it was actually carried out in practice.
Has anyone directed this exhaust gas to the reactor?
In my opinion, phase stability is also something to consider; otherwise, there will be many risks!
A successful case of introducing it into a coking furnace.
There are many desulfurization alcohol exhaust streams, with complex compositions; the improvement effect is poor, and there is little change in SO2 levels.
The impurity composition in the desulfurized alcohol tail stream is complex; care must be taken to ensure dehydration when it is introduced.
